You may not be aware that I write an email every Friday called 5 for Friday. Here is a recent example. You can get onto my free email subscription (1 email when I post the weekly post, and 1 on Friday when I send the 5 for Friday) by signing up here:
Hey Jeff,
Happy Friday! Finishing up the week sure feels good this time around. I’m looking forward to more sleep as I’ve been realizing this needs more attention in my life. What about you?
This is my 5 for Friday: Five minutes, on a Friday, for an Enneagram Five, to share Five quick tips, tidbits, and tech tricks that are working for me, and hopefully for YOU too! Drop me a message and let me know what you think!
#1 The number 1 thing you need right now
You need more sleep. Well, I’m guessing that is, based upon statistics on poor sleep among the population. Sleep is likely the top issue you might need to address in your life to be happy, get more done and experience better health. Read Shawn Stevenson’s 21 tips for improving sleep. I’m working on #3 and #9.
#2 Shortcuts App on your iPhone
Getting iPhone centric on this one. Have you played around with the new Shortcuts feature on your iPhone? I’m just starting to use it and really likely what I can do. Here’s a Shortcuts Guide from Apple. And, some interesting types of shortcuts for different situations.
#3 What I’m reading
This is one from the Christian viewpoint, for those interested. Started reading the book Reading While Black: African American Biblical Interpretation as Exercise in Hope. The author is speaking on a Zoom call to a local university this week and I hope to attend. There is a robust conversation happening right now about race relations in America and this book contributes in important ways for those in the Christian tradition.
#4 Puppies (and humans) love snow!
Mac LOVED the snow in our backyard. His first real experience. Snapped this fun pic.
Speaking of being in the snow, why is that so much fun? I know a lot of people have struggled with the snow this week and prayers and thoughts to them. I’m sure a lot of folks had fun also. Have you seen this colorized and enhanced video from 1897 of an epic snowball fight? Enjoy! |
#5 Inspirational quote of the week
“O, wind, if winter comes, can spring be far behind?”
Percy Bysshe Shelley
Enjoy your path,
Jeff
